Teacher Education Governance at the State Level: A Comparative Analysis.

This study is a causal-comparative analysis of three states which have different forms of teacher education governance. The purpose of the study was to identify promising variables that appeared to impact on the formation of a teacher standards and practices commission in each state and the implementation of a commission in the two states where a new form of teacher education governance was adopted. Variables that were found to be important were then stated and hypotheses for testing in future studies were formulated. (Author/MB)
