This handbook was prepared as a service to those concerned with regulations of the Kansas State Board of Education pertaining to issuance of certificates to teach or administer schools. These regulations provide for systematic issuance of original teacher and administrator certificates and for their renewal. The certification requirements are designed to provide continuous improvement in the education of teachers, and their fulfillment indicates the completion of an acceptable teacher education program, which seeks to carry out the philosophy and objectives adopted by the State Board of Education for the continuing education of teachers and administrators.
