The purpose of this document is to present to school personnel, parents, students, and other interested citizens the board rules and administrative procedures required to implement state legislative and local board pupil progression requirements. Sections of the document cover general procedures for promotions and assignments; promotion and placement in the elementary school; promotion and placement in the secondary school; a summary of pupil progression requirements in the secondary school; the minimum standards for promotion and placement in mathematics and communication skills at the third, fifth, eighth, and eleventh grades; methods of reporting student progress; and provisions for speakers of languages other than English and for exceptional students.
