Critical Incidents in School Administration: A Problems Approach to Educational Management for Teachers and Administrators.
Mills, Robert C.; And Others
This book presents a series of critical incidents in education in order to provide educational administrators with an opportunity to apply problem-solving techniques and management strategies to a variety of administrative problems. Each chapter concentrates on a particular educational concern. The critical incidents in each chapter are preceded by a brief introduction to the topic intended to give the reader an understanding of its importance in the school setting. Following the narration of each case study, there is a series of questions designed to stimulate creative thinking and discussion. Also included at the end of each chapter are a list of selected references and a reader reaction sheet. Individual chapters focus in turn on school-community relations, faculty-staff relations, student rights and responsibilities, collective bargaining, public relations, extracurricular activities, innovation and change, support services, and legal problems.
