Educational Attainment of Workers, March 1976. Special Labor Force Report 193.
Michelotti, Kopp
The number of workers, which includes persons 16 years of age and older in the civilian noninstitutional population, with specified amounts of education and average years of school completed by age, sex, race, and employment status is shown in this report. (It is based primarily on information from the Current Population Survey, conducted and tabulated for the Bureau of Labor Force Statistics by the Bureau of the Census.) After brief discussions about the labor force activity in 1976, changes in educational attainment--1966-1976, and education and occupation, five summary tables show comparative information on employment status, labor force participation rates, unemployment rates, educational attainment, and different occupational groups. The two appendixes cover the majority of the report. Appendix A defines or explains different terms and concepts used in the report; appendix B presents 14 tables comparing various aspects of the labor force in relation to educational level. (SH)
