Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (Is There Such An Ethnic Group?).
Ignacio, Lemuel F.
This introductory book on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders is written by a Pilipino American who writes with a personal point of view. The book begins with a discussion of the history of Pilipino immigration into the U.S. It describes an Asian American community in San Francisco. The growth and development of the Pilipino Organizing Committee and the Asian Presbyterian Caucus are traced. Insights into ethnic mobilization for social change are also offered. It is suggested that there is diversity in all these ethnic groups. Each group must be dealt with separately and specially. (Author/AM)
