Career Education in Counselor Education.
Interinstitutional Consortium for Career Education, Salem, OR.
One of seven similar project reports dealing with program development in career education for teacher, counselor, and administrator preparation, this report presents, in two sections, information on infusing career education content into counselor education programs. The first section, covering the majority of the report, describes the results of the work done by the Counselor Education Task Force. This information is grouped under the headings Career Guidance Competencies (needed by administrators, teachers, and counselors); Summary of Competencies and Student Outcomes; Teaching/Learning Activities; Summary of Career Education Content for Counselors; and Possible Counselor Course Content. The second section provides examples of how two institutions infused career education elements into counselor and teacher education courses. The appendixes contain the form used by different task forces in identifying, describing, and classifying career education elements; and lists concerns of the National Advisory Council on Vocational Education. For more information on the total project, see CE 009 305. (TA)
