This booklet contains suggestions and techniques aimed at those individuals in education associations who are in charge of news media relations for their organizations. The following aspects of reporting news to the media are discussed: getting organized and acquainted, thinking like a newsperson, writing clearly and simply, typing the news release, finding feature news, handling pictures, using newspapers vs. radio and TV, when to call a news conference, and treating newspeople honestly and fairly.
