Designed to assist agency and university professionals in the organization of a program to prepare trainees for employment as speech pathology assistants, based on intensive clinical work with patients, this training guide is presented in the form of a suggested program outline of minimal knowledge and skill requirements to be obtained by the trainee. A job description for a speech pathology assistant, suggestions on trainee qualifications, instructor's qualifications, and duration of training and programs are included along with a list of criteria for evaluating trainees and a brief glossary of professional terms and organizations.
