Innovation in In-Service Education and Training of Teachers--Federal Republic of Germany and Switzerland.

This study discusses innovation in inservice education and training of teachers (INSET) in the Federal Republic of Germany and Switzerland. The first section deals with the INSET program in relationship to each country's educational system. Section two describes three case studies. They include INSET during a six-month period at a teacher training college in Switzerland, INSET and scholastic reform in West Berlin, and INSET and curricular reform in Canton Lucerne, Switzerland. Section three examines some theoretical perspectives dealing with INSET in both countries. Participative and constructive planning and execution of INSET and a model of continuous INSET are discussed. A bibliography is included. (SK)
