Steps in Performing a Communication Audit.
Sincoff, Michael Z.; And Others
This paper develops the step-by-step processes necessary to conduct a communication audit in order to determine the communication effectiveness of an organization. The authors stress the responsibilities of both the audit team and the organization's top management as they interact during progressive phases of the audit. Emphasis is placed on initial contact and rapport building, the conduct of the audit, and its final analysis of communication effectiveness in an organization. The communication audit is described as a management tool, one that should be employed repeatedly to keep management alert to communication problems and the status of the organization's health.
