One of the products developed by the Home and Community-Based Career Education Project, the career development series booklet contains information and practical suggestions on five major areas of career development: self-assessment, exploring the world of work, finding appropriate training, overcoming obstacles to entering a career, and looking for a job. Any or all of the booklet's five parts may be used by counselors and mailed to clients. Included are descriptions of the project's counseling service, criteria for choosing a suitable school, guidelines for comparing careers and schools, financing education and training, possible solutions for dealing with various problems, and methods of job search.
