Follow-up Study, IVTC Graduates, 1973-74 School Year.
Sherard, Austell O., Comp.
In order to assess the effectiveness of occupational education and training, guidance and counseling, and job placement assistance received by students in the 13 Regional Institutes comprising Indiana Vocational Technical College (IVTC), a questionnaire was designed and mailed to 947 1973-74 IVTC graduates during spring 1975. The 545 completed questionnaires reflect a 58 percent response rate. This document tabulates responses by questionnaire item for the total survey population, for each instructional program, and for each IVTC Region. In addition, a list of employers of respondents is appended, along with employment location, number of IVTC graduates employed, and the instructional program areas of these graduates. Responses indicated that 90 percent of the graduates were either employed or involved in other endeavors of their own choice. Of the employed graduates, 83 percent had jobs related to their IVTC training. Sixty-seven percent of the respondents indicated that the training received at IVTC prepared them adequately or better for their present positions, and 87 percent rated that training as average or above. Respondents had located their presents jobs through a variety of sources, the most common (37 percent) being self-search, and the next most common (14 percent) being IVTC placement. (NHM)
