Regional Planning in Postsecondary Education. Commission Report 76-3.
California State Postsecondary Education Commission, Sacramento.
Regional planning has been proposed as a method for dealing with the various societal problems which cross local boundaries and which can be dealt with better in a wider geographic or regional context. The report of the California Postsecondary Education Commission is based on interviews, review of the existing literature, and visits to regional consortia and presents four alternative approaches to regional planning. The report outlines California postsecondary education problems of the 1970s and beyond; regional planning in other states including Pennsylvania, New York, Illinois, and Minnesota; and interinstitutional cooperation in California.
