Bibliography for Curriculum Development in Counseling Skills for the Helping Professions. Human Resources Research Organization, Research Product D2-72-4.
Seabright, Carol L.
This report presents a compilation of bibliographic material gathered during an evaluation undertaken by the Human Resources Research Organization for the U.S. Department of Labor. The evaluation concerned a special USTES Counselor Training Program designed to provide the equivalent of one year of full-time education in vocational counseling with special emphasis on the disadvantaged client. The references cited in this report were collected from 23 Counselor Training Programs being conducted in colleges and universities across the country. They have been arranged alphabetically by author and then cross-referenced by subject area. The bibliography will be a part of the Final Report for this project. It is being distributed also as a Research Project to facilitate early utilization. This bibliography should be useful to academic staffs currently conducting counselor training programs as well as those organizing new programs. Employment Service staff members may find the bibliography helpful in designing and conducting in-service training programs and as background material for studies in vocational counseling and the culture of the economically disadvantaged.
