The instructional booklet explores various occupations in the job family of transportation. Following a brief introduction to the concept of occupational clusters, the student is given an overall orientation to the general area of transportation. Chapter 2 describes jobs in water transportation, and chapter 3 deals with rail transportation, briefly tracking the careers of train engineers and other railroad personnel. Chapter 4, on highway transportation, follows the route of the long-haul trucker and interstate bus driver. Jobs in air transportation are the focus of chapter 5, and chapter 6 deals with pipeline transportation. Some occupations found across fields are discussed in chapter 7. The booklet provides information about specific jobs and how they relate to each other and to the general area of transportation.
