On November 11 and December 5, 1975, the subcommittee heard testimony on: (1) the administration and organizational structure of programs with the U.S. Office of Education (USOE) designed primarily to enhance the educational opportunities for the children of migrant and seasonal farmworkers and (2) the Federal government's responsibility and role in the area of migrant education. Witnesses included: representatives from USOE's Bureau of School Systems, Office of Compensatory Educational Programs, and Division of Education for the Disadvantaged; directors and coordinators from the States of California, Washington, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Florida; and representatives from the National Education Association's Migrant Project.
