Effective Trusteeship. Some Guidelines for New Trustees and Regents.
Zwingle, J. L.
Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges
Because of the new emphasis on education and the widely differing views about it, there has been a significant increase in the volume of writings about governing boards for colleges and universities. Reference to some of these will be found in the bibliography for this brief statement, as well as in the text. This document gives trustees and regents suggestions on the special nature of the task and a convenient guide to critical areas of trustee responsibility. Areas covered are: (1) problems in academic trusteeship; (2) ways and means; (3) the future of the academic trusteeship; and (4) variation and addenda. (Author/KE)
