Program Model: Language Enriched English Eleven for High School Students Deficient in Language.

Eighteen high school students of normal intelligence but with severely deficient language skills were given a special highly structured instructional program. Students progressed in vocabulary development, reading comprehension, and written and oral expression. Although the degree of progress was not sufficient to overcome deficits of two and three grade levels, the prognosis for further improvement was thought to be good. Students reacted favorably to the program and showed improved self concepts. (DB)
