Selecting Educational Equipment and Materials for School and Home.
Cohen, Monroe D., Ed.
An illustrated resource guide is organized in three main sections. The first, containing articles on criteria for selecting materials, sets a philosophical base for making desirable choices. The second presents two types of listings: (1) a comprehensive overview, and (2) suggested materials for specific numbers of children within given age-developmental levels. The third section contains a "catalog of catalogs"--annotated lists of manufacturers and distributors, and advertising pages. Some additions in this revision are: (1) sample evaluation forms--for both single items and packaged materials; (2) suggestions for two other developmental levels, infancy and early adolescence; and (3) articles by informed educators.
