Procedures for School Plant Planning.
Deselms, Harold
Planning procedures are specifically intended for Nebraska school districts, but are applicable to any school district planning new facilities. The procedures are outlined in three steps: (1) a comprehensive survey of educational facility needs; (2) development and adoption of long-range plans by local boards of education with maximum flexibility to meet changing programs, population patterns, and enrollments; and (3) development of written educational specifications. Advice is offered about securing community involvement, architect and school board roles, and bidding procedures. (Author/MLF)
