Planning Evaluation: A Selective Bibliography on Benefit-Cost, Goal Achievement, and Related Analytical Methods. Exchange Bibliography No. 935.
Miller, Donald H.
This bibliography lists publications dealing with various methods and techniques for assessing alternative courses of action. The analytical methods treated by the cited publications tend to emphasize a priori evaluation (that is, predicting and assessing the outcomes of alternatives). These methods include cost-benefit and cost-revenue studies, as well as the cost-effectiveness and matrix or goal-achievement forms of analysis. Citations are primarily classified according to the analytical methods they discuss. Additional entries deal with setting the context for planning evaluation and discuss some of the techniques used by the various types of analysis. A number of citations, especially regarding British planning practice, are for public documents that are not readily available in U.S. libraries; however, these reports are generally available directly from the agency that produced them.
