Issues in Economics. Unit 5: A Core Curriculum of Related Instruction for Apprentices.

The economics unit is presented to assist apprentices to acquire a general knowledge of economic issues and problems as they relate to working for a living. The unit consists of five modules: (1) how the American economic system operates, (2) current economic problems and alternative economic systems, (3) current issues relating to work and working, (4) the American labor force--who is included and how it has changed, and (5) the demand for your labor--where it comes from and what happens when it changes. Each module contains information on the following areas: objectives, references (textbooks), content, instructional suggestions (including discussion topics and suggested resources), and detailed background information.
