Self-Motivated Personal Career Planning Program. Facilitator's Guide.
Walter, Verne; Wallace, Melvin
The guide presents a process of self-assessment and goal-setting involving employee planners and management facilitators. An overview and rationale of the program and instructions and procedures are discussed in Chapters 1 and 2. Chapter 3 deals with effective facilitator skills and procedural steps for self-assessment, comparison with others, and planning tasks. Self-assessment steps are to complete and interpret the Facilitator Orientation Survey (FOS) and the Strength Deployment Inventory (SDI). Steps for comparison with others include completion of: the feedback editions of the SDI, the 16 Personal Factor Inventory, and the Strong-Campbell Interest Inventory. Planning task steps are: review attitudes about the process, compose a personal development summary, introduce process to planner participants, assist planners in next career step(s), and overall review of planner's self-assessments and reports. Chapter 4 provides suggestions on how to conduct the planning conference. The concluding chapter covers summary documentation and followup. Sample copies are included of the: FOS, FOS Analysis Worksheet, SDI, Personal Career Planning Analysis Worksheet, Personal Development Summary, and Personal Career Planning Discussion Guide. (EA)
