Follow-Up Study of Sarasota County's 1974 Senior Class Six Months After Graduation.
The document focuses on a followup survey of Sarasota County high school graduates six months after graduation. Changes in the survey instrument are discussed and compared with the survey used in the previous year. The survey was given to all June 1974 high school graduates in four daytime high schools (1,083 of which 779 responded) and in the Adult Evening High School (113 of which 55 responded). The findings on adult evening high school students are presented in a separate report. The findings showed similarities between the data collected from the 1973 and 1974 surveys. Information is presented, with discussion, in the following areas: (1) number of years of attendance in secondary school, (2) present educational placement, (3) present employment status, (4) attitude towards former educational experience, (5) suggested areas for improvement, (6) rating of teaching methods, and (7) rating of groups which provided assistance in future planning. A 44-page section contains appended materials which include copies of the surveys used and strategies and State guidelines for administering the surveys. (EC)
