Nowadays, people have a lot of time for leisure during which they try to engage in sports and recreational activities. Various activities are described which are specially devised for children, old people, the mentally ill and other special populations. Examples of career opportunities in recretion and a description of the duties that are characteristic for each are given. The personal qualities and level of education as well as preparation and training of individuals involved in recreational activities are discussed. Next, career opportunities in professional sports are described. Information about salaries, duration probability of career as well as training and preparation of professional athletes, coaches, trainers, scouts and sports administrators are mentioned. (SE)
