Annotated Bibliography for Business English for Secretarial Programs in the Junior College.
Hern, Ann
The annotated bibliography briefly describes information from printed sources which would be helpful to teachers and students of business English, particularly those involved with secretarial programs in two-year colleges. Each entry contains selected information of particular relevance to business English in the 1970's rather than an abstract of the entire work, although entries from the educational research information centers are abstract quotations. Main sections of the bibliography are (1) who--research, articles, and books about student selection, placement, predictions for success, counseling, specialization, and classification, (2) what--course content, objectives, related research, and related communication courses, (3) where--resources for both technical and general junior college curriculum, (4) why--career opportunities, job placement, cooperation with community businesses and industries, needs as defined by business and industry, and (5) how--both traditional and individualized methods, effects of automation on teaching methods, activities recommended for classroom use, testing, evaluation, audiovisual aides, and other resources and materials.
