This volume represents the collection of papers and panel discussions of the (NASA)/University Conference held in October 1974. The purpose of this conference was to bring together representatives from universities, government, and industry to discuss and assess trends and opportunities in aeronautical engineering education with the expectation of suggesting options and directions for future programs. The conference was held in three sessions--sessions I and II being comprised of 15 papers under the headings of the State of Aeronautics and the Education of the Engineer and Technical Trends in Aeronautics. Session III consisted of three panel discussions. The topics were: (1) University/Government/Industry Relations, (2) University Research in Aeronautics, and (3) Curriculum for Modern Aeronautics.
