Language Arts; Learning Objectives for Individualized Instruction.
Westinghouse Learning Corp., New York, NY.
These learning objectives have been formulated for use in classes that emphasize individualization as well as in learning centers and resource laboratories that concentrate on a diagnostic and remedial approach to basic skills. They are designed for the mature student who has not yet mastered objectives ordinarily covered in earlier years. Objectives are listed for the following subject areas: listening and speaking, word skills, sentence skills, writing skills, literature and literacy criticism, and analysis of mass media. Terminal objectives, established to provide appropriate learning segments for each of the skills, are numbered and printed in boldface. Subobjectives are also listed and are designed to contribute to the mastery of a terminal objective. The terminal objectives are numbered for computer storage and retrieval use. (LL)
