Life Science. A Curriculum Guide.

The life science curriculum is designed to promote the development of healthy living habits. Emphasis is placed on problems of major concern in the daily life of students and on significant problems in modern society. The curriculum is designed for students enrolled in the coordinated vocational education and training for disadvantaged and handicapped youth program to fulfill the laboratory science course requirement for graduation from Oklahoma high schools. The curriculum is divided into seven areas: (1) introduction, (2) how the body works, (3) food and life, (4) behavior, (5) disease control, (6) heredity, and (7) ecology. Each area consists of one or more units of instruction. Each instructional unit includes behavioral objectives, suggested activities for teachers and students, information sheets, assignment sheets, job sheets, visual aids, tests and answers to tests.
