Improved Education: Total Commitment of All Concerned People in the Communities of Greensboro, Woodbury, and Hardwick, Vermont; Rural School Development Project.
Chadwick, Evelyn H.
The Rural School Development Project (RSDP) was designed to improve the academic welfare of all elementary and intermediate school children in the Orleans (Vermont) Southwest School District, with three specific, measurable objectives--to improve students' reading achievement, to improve pupil self-image, and to increase the number of teacher aides. This document provides a detailed outline of RSDP, including a demographic survey (persons involved, training component, cost of training, and students affected by RSDP), the structural elements and the decision-making policy, a discussion of the goals, the qualitative effect of RSDP as well as the side benefits, and conclusions. Fourteen appendixes contain material related to RSDP. (JM)
