You: Who...Where...When: Life Roles, Settings and Events. Developmental Level K-3.

The teaching module is organized to provide students on the K-3 grade level with knowledge, skill, and understanding of the concepts of life roles, settings, and events. This module, divided into three learning sequences, builds on the general concepts of roles, settings, and events. The 13 activities in sequence 1 cover six developmental segments: identification of roles and of self through roles, family members, worker, leisurer, and citizen. Sequence 2 examines the sociological and economic elements of a setting through six activities (written and oral work, group or class work, planning). By working with events in sequence three, the students, in four activities, study time, growth, change, and development. All three learning sequences are introduced by: objectives, a sequence overview, and a list of learner activities. Each activity is organized under the headings of: class grouping, concept and vocabulary, learner prerequisites, educator's preparation tasks, materials/resources, skills, process, and adaptations, and contains detailed suggestions for the teacher's use.
