Career Education Catalog for 1974-1975.
The handbook briefly defines career education, its components, importance and perspective, and then describes the progress of career education in Menominee, Michigan. Necessary skills in career education are outlined (public relations, interviewing, field trips, selecting activities, and incorporating basic skills). Step-by-step instructions are given for producing units using goal process models, and working forms for goal process models are appended. These are organized in sections for goals, planning and preparation, teacher-learning activities, and evaluating and outcomes, with allotted spaces for the categories of What? How observed? How well? How accomplished? and so forth. For teachers preparing units, a section is devoted to sample portions of units prepared by Menominee teachers. Also included are specific objectives and career education goals (goals and outcomes for self awareness and for opportunities and options). A section is devoted to performance outcomes in the area of communication skills for Grades K-3 and 4-5. Finally, there are hints on tapping resource materials and persons, and a suggested reading list. (MDW)
