Secondary School Advanced Mathematics, Chapter 4, Equations, Inequalities, and Radicals, Chapter 5, Circles and Spheres. Teacher's Commentary.
Stanford Univ., CA. School Mathematics Study Group.
This manual was designed for use with the third of five texts in the Secondary School Advanced Mathematics (SSAM) series. Developed for students who have completed the Secondary School Mathematics (SSM) program and wish to continue their studies in mathematics, this series is designed to review, strengthen, and fill gaps in the material covered in SSM. The two chapters in the third text deal with (1) equations, inequalities, and radicals; and (2) circles and spheres. This manual provides lists of objectives, suggested time schedules, solutions to exercises and suggestions for class discussions. Traditional two column proofs of some theorems are provided, and their relationships to the paragraph proofs of the text discussed. (SD)
