Enrollment at State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges, Fall 1974.
National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges, Washington, DC. Office of Research and Information.
The survey presented in this annual report of enrollment at state universities and land-grant colleges contains comprehensive enrollment data from the nation's major public universities and colleges. Responses to the annual enrollment survey from 126 institutions, representing 390 individual campuses, showed that there were 3,107,169 students enrolled in both on-campus and extension programs in fall 1974. This represented more than 30 percent of the 10.2 million students attending all higher education institutions in the U.S. With the exception of a 1.2 percent drop in extension enrollment, partially attributable to the large increase in part-time enrollment on campus, all enrollment categories showed increases in fall 1974. The report includes information on the enrollment of women and out-of-state students as well as data on both on-campus and extension enrollment plus enrollment by level. (Author/PG)
