Computer Assisted Occupational Search. Technical Report. Career Achievement Skills Training Program.
Pontiac City School District, MI.
This paper describes the use of Holland's Self Directed Search, an occupational survey. The instrument, in response to student difficulties in using the survey, was modified for junior high students and computerized. The standard version was administered to one group and the modified version to another group of ninth graders. Students using the modified version had fewer problems in understanding terminology and directions, and were able to complete the survey much more quickly. Conclusions and suggestions are included along with a lengthy description of the Computer Assisted Occupational Search (CAOS) system documentation. (Author/HMV)
