This tutor's handbook is designed to assist people working with elementary and junior high school students who have learning problems. Emphasis is on (a) building a good relationship between tutor and tutee; (b) describing a profile of children with learning problems; (c) giving descriptions of common reading problems, general tips for tutoring, tips for later sessions, and tutoring reading and math; (d) avoiding the pitfalls of tutoring; (e) using audio visual equipment; and (f) giving a brief description of games to improve both reading and math skills.
