Innovations in Alabama, Annual Dissemination Report.
Alabama State Dept. of Education, Montgomery.
This publication provides information on the 1973 Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), Title III projects in Alabama. The Title III program is designed to encourage school systems to develop imaginative solutions to educational problems; to more effectively use research findings; and to create, design, and make intelligent use of supplementary centers and services. The project descriptions contained in this booklet were written by the project directors and have been edited and compiled by the Title III staff. The projects include: PEP (Physical, Emotional, and Psychological Fitness for a Lifetime); CARET (Career and Related Educational Technology); STEP (Solutions to Educable Problems); and others. Each description outlines the project goals and briefly reviews the procedures for implementing the project. Of the 30 programs described, 13 are projects funded for the first time, and 17 are projects which have been continued from the previous year. The publication also includes the purpose of ESEA Title III and application procedures. (TK)
