Racial and Ethnic Enrollment Data from Institutions of Higher Education.

This document presents the summation of data acquired by the Department of Health, Education and Welfare's fall 1972 survey. This publication both a synopsis of the reported data by institution for undergraduate, graduate, and professional enrollments of full-time students and the summation of this data with respect to selected parameters. The survey covered institutions located in the 48 coterminous states and the District of Columbia. Institutions receiving or expecting to receive some form of federal financial aid or assistance were asked to report. The reporting was based on the following paremeters: institutional component; parent institution; institutional control; FICE code number; and student enrollment data (full-time students). The contents include: undergraduate enrollment by institution; graduate enrollment by institution; professional enrollment by institution; enrollment summaries by region; enrollment summaries by ethnic classification; enrollment summaries by state; comparison of racial and ethnic enrollment data by stratum code; regional comparison of racial and ethnic minorities, 1968, 1970, and 1972; aggregate enrollment change between 1968 and 1970 by region; and aggregate enrollment change between 1971 and 1972 by region.
