Considered an initial step in the continuous process of curriculum development and departmental policy formulation, this interim curriculum guide relates to course development for grades nine, ten, and eleven. Emphasis is placed on effective written and oral expression, improved reading, the acquisition of vocabulary and other word analysis skills, correct usage, and improved application of English grammar. Provision is also made for teaching students to think critically and analytically through literature.
