Four mathematical/social studies module clusters are presented in an effort to develop proficiency in instruction and in inductive and deductive teaching procedures. Modules within the first cluster concern systems of numeration, set operations, numbers, measurement, geometry, mathematics, and reasoning. The second mathematical cluster presents five modules, including modes of inquiry, developmental stages, media, individualized instruction, and innovative programs. The third module, social studies, emphasizes interdisciplinary studies, regional and geographical studies, sociocultural studies, and curricular approaches. The final module presents evaluation techniques for the teaching of social studies and mathematics encompassing formal and informal evaluation techniques and instructional evaluation. (MJM)
