CONSTRUCT: In Search of a Theory of Meaning. Technical Report No. 238.
Smith, R. L.; And Others
A new language-processing system, CONSTRUCT, is described and defined as a question-answering system for elementary mathematical language using natural language input. The primary goal is said to be an attempt to reach a better understanding of the relationship between syntactic and semantic components of natural language. The "meaning conditions" for sentences are given in terms of constructive set of theory. The motion of a "semantic transformation" is introduced, and it is suggested how to analyze this notion in terms of program schemata. (Author/SK)
