Postsecondary Institutions Eligible for the Basic Grants Program.
Office of Education (DHEW), Washington, DC.
The Basic Educational Opportunity Grant Program is a federal student aid program that commenced operation with the 1973-74 academic year. It provides financial aid to students who have demonstrated their financial need. This is accomplished by means of the Basic Grant application, which is filed annually by the student. If it is determined that the student is eligible to receive financial assistance through the Basic Grant Program, he or she may receive payment of the award on entering an eligible institutions of postsecondary education. The list of institutions contained in this document includes all institutions, divided by state, whose students are eligible to receive Basic Grant awards. Since the list is continually being updated, institutions that are missing from the list are not necessarily ineligible. This list of institutions eligible for the Basic Grant Program also applies to these other federal aid programs: College Work-Study (CWS), Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG), National Direct Student Loan (NDSL), and Guaranteed Student Loan. It should be noted that the institutions on this list, though they are eligible for the programs, are not participating in the CWS, SEOG, and NDSL programs, and hence may not have allocations of funds for those programs for the coming year.
