This document contains testimony presented on H.R. 13991, a bill to provide for obtaining certain educational statistics. The bill states that on or before July 1, 1975, the Secretary of Health, Education, and Welfare shall report to the Congress on the feasibility of: (1) collecting, organizing, and reporting full and complete statistical information on the condition of education in the United States; (2) conducting and publishing the results of specialized analyses of the significance of such statistical information; (3) assisting State and local educational agencies in improving data collection activities; (4) developing, in cooperation with State education agencies, a comprehensive plan for the collection, analysis, and dissemination of data to make educational policy determinations and to operate educational programs; (5) coordinating the statistical information gathered with other federal agencies that need educational statistics; (6) providing direct access to the statistical information collected; and (7) investigating and reporting educational policies and activities in foreign countries.
