Left-Handed Teaching; Lessons in Affective Education.
Castillo, Gloria A.
This book focuses on the affective dimensions of learning situations and discusses the need for dealing with the emotional aspects that are a part of every cognitive learning experience. Part 1 presents a model that allows systematically and predictably for the development of the whole child, taking account of readiness-awareness level and responsbilities for cognitive and affective development. Part 2 is a collection of lessons designed to elicit affective responses from the children. This section includes units of lessons in the areas of awareness of here and now, sensory awareness, imagination, polarities, communication, building trust, aggression, nature, space, and art; and units that make use of blindfolds and sheets. In part 3, one lesson from the affective domain is presented in several cognitive contexts to demonstrate confluent education in action. A 13-item bibliography is included. (Author/PD)
