This course outline has been prepared to provide a practical foundation on which data problem solving can be based, and to discipline the student in the art of logical decision-making through lecture and practical case studies for applying the data processing concepts needed to become a programer. Skills and/or knowledge of processing data electronically are prerequisites of the course. This 90-hour course consists of six blocks of instruction (orientation, necessary basics, flowchart/block diagram, instructions, laboratory practice, and Quinmester posttests) which are further subdivided into several units each. Included are course goals, specific block objectives, a course outline, a five-item bibliography, and an appendix of Quinmester posttest samples and answer keys. (Author/BP)
