Evaluation of the Freshman Hours Program at UW-SP (University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point).
Wisconsin Univ., Stevens Point. Office of Institutional Research.
This report summarizes the academic performance of one entering class of probation freshmen for three semesters at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. All probation freshmen were subject to evening hour restrictions. Emphasis is also placed on the opinions of freshman students who have been on probation and directors of the fourteen residence halls concerning the hours regulations. Directors of the residence halls seemed to feel that the hours' program did not modify study habits of the students. Poor motivation, poor study skills, and weak college backgrounds were the most frequent cause of academic probation. (MJM)
