Enrollment Estimations for Twenty-Four Public and Private Institutions of Higher Education State of Louisiana.
Bollich, Reginald A.
During the month of February 1970, the Louisiana Coordinating Council for Higher Education, with the complete cooperation of colleges and universities of the state and other agencies and persons, initiated an enrollment projection or estimation study of Louisiana colleges and universities. The study represents an attempt to standardize enrollment estimations for major campuses in Louisiana and concurrently provide members of the Coordinating Council information on the total estimated enrollment for the state of Louisiana and enrollment at the respective campuses during the next decade. The estimations of total enrollment for the state of Louisiana parellel the historical data available on live births for the state. That is, fewer potential college students are being born and consequently fewer can be expected to enroll in the colleges and universities of the state. In the light of estimation for the 1980's, requests for certain types of facilities in higher educational institutions in the state should undergo close scrutiny. Tables and figures containing statistical data accompany the text. (Author/PG)
