Realizing the importance of counseling girls in self-concept, realistic goals, values, priorities, and decision-making in a changing world this packet was developed by the Commission on the Status of Women. Included in the packet are: When I Grow Up I'm Going to be Married--a game illustrating how time and circumstance affect women (for classroom use); Myths About Girls and Women--a booklet which includes the most frequently repeated myths about education, training, wages, work habits, etc. (for classroom use); Great Expectations--a two-page discussion of factors in building a strong self-concept (for instructional staff and individual students); Values--a one-page discussion of multiple demands on today's girls and the assistance needed in establishing priorities (for instructional staff and individual students); Charting a Life Pattern--poster illustrating the dramatic changes in female life expectancy, etc. in this century; and an 18-item bibliography.
