The first part introduces the jargon and history of this system of mass communication, and discusses the appropriate ways to incorporate TV into the classroom. Discussed are: segments of an instructional television series (their goals, educational implications and applications); samples of useful classroom activities as supplemental aids to instruction; and optimum seating arrangement for TV viewing; and ways of planning for the purchase of video equipment. The second part deals with planning, common mistakes in beginning TV productions, blocking the set, lighting, applications of video in the classroom, production crews, the development of a TV club and student production, maintenance of equipment, and various materials for TV.
